Receptra is Serious About Quality

Quality is at the forefront of everything we do here at Receptra. Our hemp is locally and sustainably grown using organic farming practices and only the best part of the plant, allowing us to provide the highest-quality CBD products. Our farmers are passionate about what they do and understand the importance of thoughtful and detailed growing, harvesting and processing techniques. This attention to detail ensures that our products are of the highest quality and purity, which is why Receptra CBD Oil is known for its effectiveness. We are proud to offer products that are safe, natural and effective, and we are always looking for ways to improve our products and processes. Thank you for choosing Receptra!.

Hand-Shucked Quality Hemp

Quality is paramount when it comes to the products we produce. That's why our team takes care to harvest only the fully-grown plants. We hang them up to dry, ensuring that there's just the right amount of moisture. Too much moisture can make the plants sticky and difficult to work with. Once enough of the moisture has evaporated, we hand-shuck the plants to remove stalks and stems while preserving the best parts of the plant. This also helps to keep the plant compounds from being broken down unnecessarily, which can impact the taste of the product and the volume of certain compounds like chlorophyll. By taking these extra steps, we're able to produce products of the highest quality.

Cold Ethanol Extraction

Cannabis has been used for centuries for its medicinal properties, but it was only recently that researchers have begun to unlock all of its potential. One of the key ways to do this is through extraction, which allows us to isolate specific compounds from the plant material. While there are many different methods of extraction, cold ethanol extraction is one of the most effective. It extracts a much broader range of compounds than hydrocarbon extractions, and our proprietary component involves using very specific temperatures to safely extract all terpenes and cannabinoids from the plant. This results in a full spectrum CBD oil that is highly effective and without any compromises. If you're looking for a CBD oil that is of the highest quality, cold ethanol extraction is the way to go.

cGMP Certification

Receptra is one of the few and one of the first cGMP certified CBD companies. cGMP stands for Current Good Manufacturing Practice, which is a comprehensive term that includes regulations enforced by the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration). CGMP certification demonstrates that a company has implemented strict quality control measures to ensure the safety and efficacy of their products. As cGMP is implemented in the CBD industry, consumers can buy with confidence knowing they are purchasing a safe, pure, effective product from a manufacturer who has taken extra steps to ensure rigorous production standards. Receptra's commitment to quality makes them a leader in the CBD industry, and sets them apart from many of their competitors. When you purchase Receptra products, you can be confident that you are getting a premium product that is backed by science and manufactured to the highest standards.

Testing (Third-Party Lab Results)

We third-party lab test all of our CBD products so you can be confident you’re receiving safe and effective products that include all the good stuff, and none of the bad.  We offer COA (certificate of analysis) for all of our products so you know exactly what you're getting by looking at the lab results, and can trace your product back to the source.

Understanding Third-Party Testing Lab Results

Receptra Naturals is proud to be at the forefront of transparency from the moment our seeds are planted to the time our products arrive at your doorstep. We are happy to provide our third-party testing results for you to review and have provided this detailed explanation of the lab results so that you can better understand exactly what is in your bottle or jar.

This section labeled “cannabinoid” breaks down the content of individual cannabinoids in each Receptra Naturals product. You will notice that CBD is the most abundant cannabinoid in each of our 100% Colorado grown and manufactured hemp extracts, but it is not alone. CBD works best when combined with other cannabinoids to achieve the “entourage effect.” Read more about the most potent cannabinoids in Receptra Naturals hemp extracts.

CBD: Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most abundant cannabinoid produced by the hemp plant. Our hemp phenotype naturally produces CBD in abundance compared to other cannabinoids. CBD is non-psychoactive, non-addictive and antibacterial. Generally, our customers are most concerned with CBD content. Since 2003, the United States Government has held a patent on CBD for its use as an antioxidant, neuroprotectant and anti-inflammatory.

CBD-A: Cannabidiolic Acid (CBD-A) is another non-psychoactive cannabinoid produced by the hemp plant. When CBD-A is heated, the carboxylic acid group is expelled in the form of CO2 . When this reaction occurs, CBD-A is converted to CBD. Research shows widespread health benefits of CBD-A.

Δ9-THC: Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the most abundant cannabinoid produced by the most cannabis plants. Our proprietary hemp genetics naturally produce low amounts of THC and high amounts of CBD. THC is legally permitted in Hemp products as long as the products contain less than the federally mandated 0.3% as defined in Section 7606 of the Farm Bill of 2013. All of Receptra Naturals’ products comply with the Farm Bill of 2013 by containing less than 0.3% THC.

CBC: Cannabichromene (CBC) is a non-intoxicating compound with the same origins as both THC and CBD in that they all stem from cannabigerolic acid (CBGA). It converts from CBGA into cannabichrome carboxylic acid (CBCA), and then finally to CBC after exposure to heat. CBC in particular is known to interact with the vanilloid receptor 1 (TRPV1) and transient receptor potential ankyrin 1 (TRPA1), both of which are linked to pain perception. In addition to its analgesic properties, CBC is widely believed to have significant antimicrobial (anti-bacteria and anti-fungal) effects. CBC is the third most abundant cannabinoid found in the Receptra Naturals product, only CBD and CBG are found in higher levels.

CBG: Cannabigerol (CBG) is another non-psychoactive cannabinoid produced by the Hemp plant. Currently there is little research about the effects of CBG. What scientists do know, is that CBG acts as the “stem cell” of most other cannabinoids. CBG is converted to other cannabinoids by enzymes in the Hemp plant. This explains why there is generally a very low concentration of CBG in mature Hemp plants.

CBN: Cannabinol (CBN) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid created by the degradation of certain cannabinoids. As the cannabinoids oxidize, they are converted to CBN. This process is stimulated by either heat or oxygen. CBN shows effectiveness in helping people relax and can promote better sleeping patterns. Receptra Naturals growth and extraction processes naturally converts low levels of the cannabinoids into CBN.

Safety is always a concern with any consumable product. The “safety” section of the Receptra Naturals third party test results focuses on three areas, which are Foreign Matter, Heavy Metals and Microbials. We refuse to accept anything less than a passing grade. Read more about CBD safety standards.

A foreign matter inspection will determine if there is anything in the hemp sample that is non-usable. This includes large foreign particles, hair, insects, mold colonies, or any other foreign particles.

Lead: Receptra Naturals maintains a lead content threshold well below the accepted safe limits. While the safe limit for lead is considered 100 parts per million, Receptra Naturals batches will only pass third party testing with a lead content of less than .005 parts per million. Lead is a chemical element that is soft, malleable, and a heavy metal. As a remediation crop, Hemp absorbs small amounts of lead from the environment. While the majority of lead is removed from the hemp during extraction and refinement, small amounts can still remain. This is common in many things we consume daily, such as foods, water, and pharmaceuticals. The total lead content allowed in children’s products, as defined by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, is 100 parts per million—this includes pharmaceuticals. While lead is legally present in many everyday products and consumables.

Arsenic: Arsenic is a chemical element that occurs in many minerals. Trace quantities of arsenic are an essential dietary element in humans and other species. Arsenic is commonly used in insecticides. Though Receptra Naturals does NOT use arsenic nor any other pesticides to control insect populations, we test for the element to ensure no unintended contamination from the environment occurs. In order to obtain a passing grade in this category, the batch must contain less than .005 parts per million arsenic.

Cadmium: Cadmium is a chemical element that is a minor component in zinc ores and is a byproduct of zinc production. Cadmium use is decreasing worldwide, but it is still used in a variety of phosphate fertilizers. Receptra Naturals does NOT use cadmium in any part of the growth or production of our hemp and hemp products. In order to obtain a passing grade in this section, there must be less than .005 parts per million cadmium in the finished batch.

Mercury: Mercury is a bioaccumulative environmental toxin that is formed from inorganic mercury. Microbes convert inorganic mercury to methylmercury in aquatic systems like rivers, sediments and soils. Natural sources of methylmercury include volcanoes, forest fires and weathering of mercury-bearing rocks and minerals.

Receptra Naturals tests for mercury to ensure that uncontrollable environmental circumstances do not introduce this toxin to our Hemp crops. Often times, mercury will concentrate in herbivorous fish and aquatic life that are common in our diets. For this reason, some believe it is important to introduce plant based sources of omega fatty acids to our diets in lieu of animal (fish) based sources. In order to obtain a passing grade in this section, each batch must contain less than .005 parts per million mercury.

Microbial Contamination testing is an integral step in the hemp product manufacturing process. By testing for microbial contamination, we can ensure we are meeting and exceeding safety standards.

Aerobic Bacteria: This is a reference to the aerobic bacteria content of Receptra Naturals’ Hemp oil. Aerobic bacteria are bacteria that grow when oxygen is present and are a common cause of clinical infection. Receptra Naturals’ finished Hemp oils will never contain aerobic bacteria.

Bile Tolerant Gram Negative Bacteria: The Enterobacteriaceae family, also known as Bile-tolerant gram-negative bacteria, is a large group of bacteria that includes bacteria, E.coli, Salmonella, and coliform, to name a few. The Enterobacteriaceae family includes more than 200 species in total. Most members of the Enterobacteriaceae family are not pathogenic to humans, but can cause foodborne illness as well as food spoilage. Food manufacturers typically test products for Enterobacteriaceae to ensure quality and long shelf life.

Coliforms: Coliforms are bacteria commonly found in the soil, human and animal waste, and water that has been contaminated by runoff. Coliforms are typically not harmful to humans and are often found in the gut of warm-blooded animals. The Environmental Protection Agency and others, use coliform content to determine the ability of other bacteria and pathogens to thrive in things like drinking water and products meant for ingestion.

E. Coli: Escherichia coli (E. Coli) are bacteria commonly found in the environment, foods, drinks, and the intestines of humans and animals. You will notice that in order to obtain a passing grade, there can be ZERO presence of E. Coli in the tested batch. Generally, E. Coli bacteria are harmless, but some types are pathogenic and can cause illnesses like diarrhea and respiratory illness. The most common transmission of E. Coli is through contaminated water supplies.

Salmonella: Salmonella is a bacteria that is found in the environment and all warm-blooded animals. Salmonella derives its nutrition from organic sources and can thrive with or without oxygen. You will notice that in order to obtain a passing grade, there can be ZERO presence of Salmonella in the tested batch. Children are most at risk for infection or sickness from Salmonella. It is imperative to ensure that there is no presence of Salmonella in products designed to improve the quality of life of children and adults.

Yeast and Molds: This is the total count of yeasts and mold contained in the tested batch. You will notice that in order to obtain a passing grade, there can be ZERO presence of any yeasts or molds. Yeast and mold belong to the fungus family. Both yeast and mold require organic hosts to derive nutrition. Yeasts and molds grow on most foods and materials where there are available nutrients and small amounts of moisture. While most yeasts and molds are harmless to humans, it is recommended to consume as few yeasts and molds as possible. Receptra Naturals finished Hemp oils will never contain yeasts or molds.

Terpenes are the essential oils found in the hemp plant. These oils give all plants, flowers, and herbs their diverse aromas but also contain beneficial properties. The combination of these oils in conjunction with cannabinoids creates the “entourage effect.” This is the concept of using the full range of multiple compounds working together to enhance the natural healing properties of the plant. This is especially true for CBD, which is most effective when it is delivered in a full spectrum hemp extract.
