Smell (Irrelevant to effects)
The Seven Isles scent is very clean and sweet, with notes of orange and vanilla. There is also a floral element to the smell, though we couldn’t place the specific flower. Despite the floral component, the overall profile of the bath crumble is neither feminine nor masculine — it’s a good unisex scent.
The citrus elements of the aroma provide an invigorating quality that is smoothed and rounded out by the sweetness of vanilla. The overall effect is revitalizing and refreshing, making for a great pick-me-up to alleviate pain and soreness.
The bath crumble is essentially a free-form bath bomb. It comes packaged in a black, zipper-sealed envelope to preserve its scent and potency. The crumble itself is pink in color and granular in texture, slightly finer than sugar. About half of the product retains its loose, powdery consistency, while the other half clumps together in small clusters that break down easily. The powder is soft to the touch and leaves a gentle scent behind on the skin, even when dry.
While this product could be added to a bath effectively, we decided to try it in a foot soak (it would make a great addition to your home pedicure) for more targeted relief from soreness. When added to running water, the crumble begins to foam and bubble, creating a pleasant soothing sensation on the skin that’s instantly relaxing.
Once the fizzing action dies down, settle in and soak for a while in the pinkish water. The safflower and MCT oils will help soften skin and cuticles while the CBD alleviates pain and inflammation, soothing soreness and relaxing tension.
Effects (Onset, Duration, Intensity)
Once added to running water, the bath crumble fizzes delightfully against the skin. The effervescence is soothing and refreshing, and the scent of the product is released in a pleasant way. As the bubbles fade (a couple of minutes), the water turns a rosy shade and settles down. We felt better already, largely due to the fizzing.
As we soaked (we sat for about twenty minutes), we felt more and more relaxed. Pain and tensioneased, our muscles relaxed, and our feet felt much more comfortable in general. Our skin felt softer afterward, and it was much easier to exfoliate and care for our cuticles.
The improvement we felt after using the bath crumble was pronounced (we needed it after a long run) and lasted for about four hours after use. Our pain was moderate when we used the crumble and, after soaking, was barely detectable.
Best used for
This product would make a great addition to a home manicure or pedicure routine, but it could also benefit people who work long hours on their feet. If you work in hospitality, construction, retail, or another industry that requires lots of standing and walking, this product would be a great option for relieving pain and soreness at the end of a long shift.
Since it contains the same dose of CBD as a full bath bomb in less product, this product is best used for targeted symptom relief in a specific area (though you could use it for a full-body soak in a pinch, it just won’t be as fizzy). It’s suitable for sensitive skin and won’t stain your tub or basin — or your skin, for that matter — pink.
Best used with (Complimentary Product)
This product is excellent for providing targeted, localized relief exactly where you need it. That said, it will be more effective with a systemic product, such as a tincture or a CBD softgel. An oral product will help alleviate pain and inflammation from within while the bath crumble works at the surface.
If you need faster-acting relief than an oral product can provide, try a bowl of organic hemp flower or a CBD vaporizer. While the effects won’t last quite as long, they will come on more quickly.
The pouch contains 1 oz of product, which contains 20 mg of hemp-derived CBD. At $6 per ounce, this works out to a per-milligram cost of $0.30. This is comparable to similar topical products and allows you to focus your CBD dose exactly where you need it.
In terms of CBD bath and body products, this one is fairly unique. It’s a different take on the classic bath bomb that is affordable and effective, alleviating soreness and softening skin. Like all of Canna Comforts’ products, the bath crumble meets the standards outlined in our CBD Buyer’s Guide for quality, purity, and potency. If you’re seeking an alternative to the ubiquitous bath bomb or salt soak, this product might be for you.
