Smell (Irrelevant to effects)
Canna Comforts Full Spectrum CBD Oil is a wholesome oil loaded with high-quality plant material and the full spectrum of cannabinoids. Because of its whole-plant formulation, the tincture has a distinct smell that’s best described as earthy with sweet floral undertones. The smell of this tincture is prominent, but very tolerable, and probably even pleasant for those who enjoy the smell of natural hemp.
Taste (Irrelevant to effects)
The taste is mild, but has a very distinct “hemp” flavor, which is often described as “nutty.” There’s no added flavors or essential oils that alter the taste of this oil, so the flavor is pretty straightforward. It is similar to many other edible hemp oil products with its plant-based undertones (think of the mild flavor of raw leafy greens, like spinach). The flavor is very recognizable as hemp, but definitely not too overpowering to add to a robust beverage, like tea, natural soda, or coffee.
This full spectrum oil is slightly thicker than the consistency of water, which makes it very easy to measure precise doses. The oil is a deep golden brown color with almost microscopic bits of plant material throughout. When dosing, the texture of the oil is smooth against the tongue and goes down easily.
Effects (Onset, Duration, Intensity)
We didn’t exactly notice much of anything from this CBD oil until its effects were on full blast. The onset is smooth and easy, with a very light uplifting effect. The effects seemed to peak after 2.5 hours, but redosing wasn’t necessary until 4-5 hours after the first dose. The efficacy and quick delivery of relief is impressive, so we tried out this tincture a couple of different ways.
The bottle holds 500 mg of CBD, and the recommended dose of a half dropper full (10 mg) seemed to do the trick for a mild headache. When this full spectrum tincture was taken first thing in the morning, it had a certain “get up and go” effect that enhanced focus and productivity. A larger dose (approximately 20 mg) later in the day offered quick relief for sore muscles after an afternoon workout. Generally, full spectrum products are considered more effective due to their “synergistic effects,” and this product’s effects definitely outweigh much of the competition.
Best used for
As we said, this full spectrum tincture definitely competes with many of the best products we have tried, and aside from using for headaches, muscle pains, and to increase focus, it likely has a number of potential uses. Studies show that full spectrum CBD products like this one may offer the greatest benefits to patients with epilepsy.
Best used with (Complimentary Product)
Tinctures are notorious for their quick effects, but the effects often fade faster than products with a slow onset. This tincture could be paired with other products to potentially extend or boost its effects, like CBD edibles, which may take an hour or more to kick in but could extend the half-life of the CBD by several hours. When using this full spectrum tincture for pain or soreness, it may also pair well with a topical for more targeted therapeutic benefits. Canna Comforts 250 mg Pain Cream may pair well with this tincture for relief from mild to chronic pain.
This Canna Comforts Full Spectrum CBD Oil contains 500 mg of cannabidiol and cost around $50. That’s rounds out to $0.10 per milligram or $1 for each dose if following the recommendations on the bottle (10 mg). Canna Comforts has one of the most fairly priced high-quality tinctures on the market. This price is slightly lower than comparable brands, like Ambary Gardens Full Spectrum Hemp Extract, which works out to $0.16 per milligram. Despite this bottle’s incredible value, Canna Comforts also offers a 1000 mg option that cost a little less per milligram and may be better for users who need larger regular doses of CBD.
There are plenty of alternatives out there, but Canna Comforts’ Full Spectrum CBD oil definitely holds it’s own against the competition. One main difference between this product and others is the lack of flavor additive. Some other full spectrum tinctures (that are known for the “hempy” flavor) include essential oils or other additives to mask the flavor. This flavoring is totally based on preference. Those who don’t mind the hemp flavor may do well with this tincture, but Canna Comforts also offers a CBD Isolate Oil that is almost flavorless and may be more tolerable. This oil meets our CBD Buyer’s Guide criteria for quality, purity, and potency.
