Smell (Irrelevant to effects)
When you open the zipper sealed pack, Canna Comforts Full Spectrum CBD Gummies initially have a light, fruity smell. Upon deeper investigation, you can smell the light, hempy aroma, too. Overall, the scent is not overwhelming, but pleasantly sweet and tangy.
Taste (Irrelevant to effects)
Much like the smell, most of these gummies are sweet with fruity, tangy undertones. The pack comes with an assortment of flavors, and some are a bit sourer than others. Potential flavors could include Apricot, Blueberry, Coconut, Kiwi, Blueberry Cream, Lemon, or Sweet Cream. With the more tart flavors, the hempy taste was a bit more apparent so they may not be best for people who don’t care for strong flavors.
The consistency is exactly what you’d expect, much like the consistency of sour gummy worms. Also, like gummy worms, these gummies are coated in sweet crystals. The chewable doses are tiny (about the size of a pinky nail) and easy to get down. These gummies would make a great alternative to CBD capsules for those who have trouble swallowing pills.
Effects (Onset, Duration, Intensity)
Because these are edibles, they do take about an hour and a half to take effect. Nevertheless, the onset was smooth, and barely noticeable after one 10 mg gummy. Two gummies (20 mg) had a more apparent onset, with a light, uplifting feeling that lasted a few hours. When a late-night, mighty migraine hit, these gummies did the trick at providing a full night’s rest. Another dose the next morning continued to ward off migraines all day.
We did notice that it seemed to require double the dose when using these edibles to reach the same effects we experienced after taking only half the amount of the Canna Comforts Full Spectrum Hemp Oil. Likely, this is due to the way edibles are processed. Since they need to be metabolized through digestion, the CBD enters the bloodstream more slowly than a tincture would. Still, the effects were very comparable and even seemed to last longer than the tincture dose.
Best used for
These gummies are super portable and delicious, which makes it effortless to dose during the day as needed. They are not targeted (like some cannabidiol products designed for managing insomnia, pain, or other conditions) so they may be useful for any condition where CBD is beneficial. Studies show that cannabidiol may be useful for managing a wide range of conditions, and may have anti-inflammatory, anxiolytic, antiepileptic, and pain-relieving effects. The effects seem to last a bit longer than some other products, which may make them useful for managing consistent conditions throughout the day, like general anxiety or pain. They would not be as useful as a stand-alone product where immediate relief is needed, like for chronic pain or inflammation, because they take a bit longer to take effect.
Best used with (Complimentary Product)
While these gummies may work well on their own for certain conditions, they may be better suited for more severe symptoms when properly paired with another CBD product.
While they may not provide immediate relief for chronic conditions, like severe pain or inflammation, they may be paired with a more immediate dosing method, like tinctures. By combining these gummies with a tincture like Canna Comfort’s Full Spectrum Hemp Oil, you’ll experience immediate effects that last longer than the tincture would on its own. If both products are used at the same time, the tincture should take effect quickly (in 10-15 minutes) and begin to fade after a few hours. The edible will take 1-2 hours to kick in and can pick up the slack as the effects of the tincture fade away.
This pack of gummies includes 10 gummy pieces that are 10 mg of CBD each. The pack costs $15 when ordered straight from CannaComforts, which rounds out to $1.50 per piece, or $0.15 per milligram of CBD. We’ve found that other brands do offer gummies at nearly half the cost, like CBDistillery’s Night Time CBD gummies, which cost only $0.08 per milligram. Of course, most other options offer larger packages, and buying in bulk may be the reason for the lower price point. For users looking for a smaller pack of low-dose, assorted gummies, CannaComforts offers a fair price.
There are multiple CBD brands that produce a similar product, most of which offer either single gummies or a bulk amount. One similar product that we’ve reviewed and approved, Nature’s Script Hemp Extract Gummies, falls in a similar price range ($1.65 per 15 mg dose) but includes 60 gummies per bottle. Because these gummies by Canna Comforts are as effective as they are delicious, the main reason for opting for an alternative would be to buy larger quantities or a different potency. Another reason would be to look for a vegan alternative since these gummies do contain gelatin. For all these reasons, these gummies meet our CBD Buyer’s Guide criteria for quality, purity, and potency.
