A Smell Proof Rolling Kit for Joints and Blunts

Rather than shoving the joint rolling necessities into various pockets and crossing your fingers that all the items arrive safely, you can condense them into a compact, travel friendly joint rolling kit. Built to take a beating, the smell proof Safety Case will ensure the safe arrival of all your joint rolling necessities. Gone are the days of wet rolling papers, forgotten lighters, and hand-crumbled cannabis. Just slip the ultra-slim smoking kit into your pocket or purse and you’ll be ready to smoke up anywhere. Let’s face it, sometimes you just need to roll one up. Whether you’re on the side of a mountain or at a social event, you will need a few basic items in order to complete the joint rolling endeavor.

Rolling Papers

The first necessary item is a pack of rolling papers. These small leaves of paper are manufactured specifically for rolling cigarettes and/or joints. There’s a variety of rolling papers on the market today – they can be found in a multitude of materials, sizes, flavors, and thicknesses. Perhaps the most important item is the cannabis bud itself. Depending on the size of joint you like to roll, you will need to have roughly 0.5-1+ gram of cannabis on hand. Who wants to smoke joints that look like the one on the left? Rolling a pearled joint is almost impossible without a grinder. A grinder is a tool used to break the cannabis buds up into fine, evenly ground pieces. While we typically use a four-part grinder when rolling at home, nothing beats the size and performance of the grinder card when on the move.

While it may sound obvious, we can almost guarantee that the lack of a lighter has halted more than one of your joint sparking operations. Matches, hemp line, or the trusty magnifying glass will also work – just make sure you have a heat source at your disposal!

You will also benefit from using a crutch, a mouthpiece made of wood pulp or glass. Also known as a filter or tip, a crutch helps prevent burnt lips and sloppy joints. You can easily slide a few pre-perforated crutches right into the inside cover of your Safety Case. They ensure optimal airflow and a more pleasant smoking experience for all.

How to Smoke Weed Without The Smell

Everyone has been in the unfortunate situation of catching a whiff of cannabis on their clothes, hair, home or car while out and about — not an ideal scenario when trying to consume in stealth mode.

In order to maintain maximum discretion, it’s important to deploy a few smart travel tips to smoke weed without smelling like it. Keep in mind that smell is subjective – what does not smell to you may actually be quite noticeable to, say, a neighbor or your great aunt Olive.  These tips will help you minimize the smell as much as possible, but just keep that principle in mind when using them. While some of these tips many sound simple, you’d be surprised at how effective they are, especially when combined.

How to Smoke Weed Without it Smelling

  1. Vaporizer

The easiest method for discreet smoking is a portable vaporizer. You can fill them with either flower or concentrates (according to the particular style of your vape), easily carry them during air travel, and avoid thick clouds of smoke or obvious scents at home and on the go. Some portable vaporizers are even styled after ink pens so that they blend into everyday life. In our experience, concentrate pens produce significantly less smell than loose-leaf vaporizer pens.

  2. Use a Filter

Whether you use a HEPA filter or purchase a carbon filter, deploying this simple technique will greatly reduce the presence of contaminants (smell) in the air. For reference, grow rooms rely on carbon filters to scrub the air of any noticeable cannabis scent.

  3. Mask the Smell

To mask the smell, many people construct what is known as a ‘sploof’ – a simple device through which the smoke is blown in an effort to mask its smell with other smells. Typically, this is done by taking the cardboard tube from a roll of toilet paper or paper towels (or an empty water bottle with the bottom cut out) and shoving a bunch of crumpled dryer sheets inside. The dryer sheets act as filters for the smoke, resulting in a less potent scent.  If you go this route, use scented dryer sheets — the unscented variety aren’t as effective at masking the smell. A common question we hear is “do I need to purchase a professional sploof to get the best results” and the answer is: No! making your own homemade sploof is a tried and true method that college kids, teenagers, and worried parents have used for years.

  4. Exhale Outside

When given the opportunity, smoking outside is going to reduce smells to a large degree, because even a light breeze will carry all the smoke away. If you can’t step outside or the weather is inclement, we recommend simply cracking a window and directing your exhale right out. Ashing the bowl or joint through the window is another effective method for smell reduction. If you are going to smoke inside with the window cracked, we recommend putting a towel under the door so the draft doesn’t send the smoke back inside.

  5. Wash Your Hands

Often times, your hands will pick up an ashtray-like scent after smoking, which is a dead giveaway every time. As soon as you finish smoking or vaping, a quick hand wash will remove many of the contaminants that may have ended up on your fingers during the grinding, loading, rolling, lighting, and clearing process.  If you’re in a pinch, you can use a generous douse of hand sanitizer or even a baby wipe to cleanse your hands of odor-causing particles.

  6. Carry a Smell-Proof Case

A carbon lined smell proof case will be your best bet when trying to conceal your smoking supplies after use. As soon as you’re ready to store your 420 travel kit essentials, pack them in a case like The Safety Case for maximum discretion on the go.

Bonus: Raw Hemp Flower

Did you know that you can reap the benefits of CBD and other beneficial cannabinoids without the associated high?  We like the organic hemp flower strains from Canna Comforts, which look, smell, taste, and smoke just like the top-shelf cannabis strains that inspired them.  Legal in all 50 states, raw hemp flower  from Canna Comforts is batch-tested and can provide fast-acting symptom relief when smoked or vaped, just like traditional cannabis.
